From, Isabel Hill, Director, National Travel and Tourism Office:
As you know, Hurricane Florence is approaching the East Coast and Hurricane Olivia is approaching Hawaii. I recognize that many in your organizations may want timely information to help them make decisions to assist with planning for employees, operations, visitors and assistance in the recovery process.
For your information, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is activating the National Business Emergency Operations Center (NBEOC) for these storms. The NBEOC is holding a daily coordinating call in which FEMA will provide updates of the situation on the ground and then open the line for questions. This is the best resource for the private sector to get this information and ask questions.
The first call will take place this afternoon (9.11.18) at 3:00 p.m. EDT. The call in number is 1-888-877-0354 Participant Passcode: 9132924.
Additionally, information about philanthropic organizations recognized by FEMA, business resources for recovery and links to relevant government websites can be found on our National Travel and Tourism Office website at https://travel.trade.gov/DisasterANDRecovery.asp. For more information, please contact Curt Cottle in the National Travel and Tourism office at email@example.com.
